Koh Phangan Travel Info

Koh Phangan (can also be spelled Ko Phangan) is an island on the East coast of Thailand, not so far from Surat Thani town on the main land. The area of this island is 168 square kilometers. The largest island in the area is Koh Samui and it is located a little South of Koh Phangan. There are several ferry lines between these islands. The main town on Koh Phangan is Thongsala, located on the West coast.

There are many ways to get around the island, you can hire a taxi cab for a little amount of money,or if you feel really adventurist you can hire a jeep or car and do it in your own adgenda. A huge variety of fishes and some amazing coral reefs offer divers unrivalled adventures. Other activities now include kite surfing, snorkeling and boat tours. But, as Koh Phangan has much more to show the interested visitor than just being a Party Place, Phangan has a less noisy side, offering the private atmosphere of a secluded resort with great beach scenery, or yoga courses and various other options. At the moment, Koh Phangan continues to be a tourist destination and people from every part of the world visit it.

The south eastern part of Koh Phangan is the main party area including Haad Rin and the full moon party beach. Most of the area surrounding Had Rin is mountainious making most of the fantastic white beaches unable to reach by road, the only way to get to them is by boat from Haad Rin.
